Do you have more confidence than patience?

The most difficult aspect of ADHD is the incredible confidence that you will have that you are correct and how you are doing things the right way, when in fact there are so many other options that you may not have considered.  You likely avoiding planning, considering alternative solutions and having the patience to spend more time on the planning stage than the execution stage.

Often, you will find yourself at the finish line looking around, realizing it didn’t have to be so hard. Then, feeling ashamed that you took the difficult route, rather than following the crowd on an easier and more effective pathway to a boring solution. You end up with a great story about how you got there, but you’re often feeling drained, burned out and only slightly proud of the work that you had put in, even though you succeeded this time.
